Individual camps will vary in cost, and generally range between 1500-2000 per camp depending upon individual sites, facilities, and coaching needs. We recognize that the cost is substantial. In fact, we already subsidize some of the cost for each camper through grant support. We are committed to providing an experience worth every dollar and more. Please see individual camp details for the cost of the camp that you are planning to attend.

We recognize that an important part of the training camp is both rest and the camaraderie of meeting and learning from all the other campers. With this in mind, there will be several hours of free time spaced throughout the day for you to relax and enjoy the time together with other campers.
Your belongings will be stored in a secure area arranged by our host facility.
Yes. We make arrangements with our host site for locker room use. Please bring your own locks to secure your belongings.
Please travel with and bring your own supplies. We will have emergency supplies on hand, but, as always, you should carry your own supplies.
Yes, we provide snacks, rapid acting carbs and drinks. Feel free to bring your own if you have favorites.
In the spirit of the camp, you’ll be served healthy food provided by our host facility – breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and beverages are included every day. Let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements.
No problem. We offer multiple training and fitness sessions per day for you to particpate in. However, we have coaches that will help you feel much more comfortable on a bike or in the water in just a day or two. If you are looking for great general fitness activities, or want to learn a new skill, this would be the place to do it!
Our head coach, Nicole Freedman, has spent a lot of time transporting her bikes around the world. Here is what she had to say on this one: “I recommend you ship the bike as it will be far cheaper. Assuming about $2,000 of insurance on the bike, shipping across the country via FedEx ground (safer, more reliable and faster than UPS) will be about $50. The plane would cost about $80 per leg, meaning $160 to get all the way out here.
It generally takes 5-7 days max by FedEx ground to deliver the bike. I recommend packing into a cardboard box from a bike shop and for reinforcement putting the entire cardboard box into another slightly larger cardboard box. I have never had any problems in doing this.
If you are not comfortable packing/unpacking the bike yourself, you can ask a local shop to pack it for you. Our staff, of course, can help you as well in rebuilding the bike.”
We do not rent bicycles. We may be able to help identify a bike rental shop in the area, but we will let you take it from there.
If you are a cyclist, or want to learn cycling skills - whether you are new to the bike or a seasoned triathlete - we highly recommend that you bring your own cycle.
Absolutely! We have created a scholarship fund for those who will benefit but might not otherwise be able to attend the camp. Please contact the programming coordinator for more details on giving to Diabetes Training Camp. Thank you!
Most of our sites will offer internet access, although it does vary. Please check with each individual camp or hotel.
We will designate a host hotel for our campers that will be convenient and affordable. In some cases, when we are on a college campus, we will also try to arrange for dormitory housing. The housing opportunities will vary camp to camp, so please check out the individual camps for specific details.

Most campers either fly or drive to camp. If you are interested in sharing a ride, please indicate this in our member’s forum so that you might identify someone from your region. If you are flying to camp, we will provide transportation to and from the local airport. Rental cars are not necessary, but you might consider it if you plan to explore the local area on your own before or after camp.
