Mike Riddell, Ph.D.
Associate Professor at the School of Kinesiology & Health Sciences York University
Dr. Riddell is an associate professor in the School of Kinesiology and Health Science at York University where he lectures on clinical exercise physiology and the role of physical activity in preventing and treating chronic disease. He has his Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from McMaster University and has done post doctorial studies in the Department of Physiology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Riddell is a contributing author in the American Diabetes Association “Handbook of Exercise in Diabetes” and is a member of the ADA’s working group on the technical review of exercise and type 1 diabetes. Dr. Riddell’s research is on metabolic and hormonal responses to exercise in human and animal models of diabetes mellitus. Dr. Riddell was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 15.
