Grant Curry
Bike Fitting Specialist, The Bike Doctor, Assistant Cycling Coach
S.I.C.I. Advanced Certified

Grant was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1975 at age 8. Already two years into soccer stardom, Grant struggled to compete during a time when insulin pumps were rarely used, blood glucose monitoring was still a dream, and rapid acting insulins were only being tested in a lab.

As an adolescent Grant grew to love cycling, spending countless hours enjoying the beautiful suffering and epic experience that is being on a bike. It was also during this time and through his experience at the Elliot P. Joslin Camp for Boys with Diabetes that Grant discovered the magic and joy of sharing personal and athletic challenges with other people with diabetes.

As an adult, Grant has enjoyed many years as a professional musician. Having retired in 2005 from 15 years of touring North America and Europe in a rock band, he now works as an audio engineer, producer and, more recently, as a bike fitter. Grant has completed course study in bicycle mechanics at United Bicycle Institute in Ashland, OR and has studied professional bike fitting at the Serotta International Cycling Institute in Saratoga Springs, NY. Currently, Grant divides his time between his recording studio and bike fitting studio.

Grant brings tremendous enthusiasm to Diabetes Training Camp with a passion for helping people achieve the most of their cycling experience through personalized and professional bike fitting services. No longer on the road 200+ days a year, he enjoys having more time to feed his love of cycling and passion for connecting with other people with diabetes through his involvement with DTC.
