It is with great excitement that we invite you to join us at the 2nd annual “Come Experience the Magic” fundraising event for Diabetes Training Camp Foundation. Please mark your calendars for Thursday evening, November 14th and celebrate this life-changing organization with us at Hard Rock, Atlantic City.

Dear Friend,

Thank you for considering contributing to Diabetes Training Camp Foundation. Diabetes Training Camp Foundation was established in 2015 with a mission to inspire, motivate and educate by delivering unique and customized programs and coaching that empower the community of people living with diabetes to thrive.

In 2016, we launched our Diabetes Training Camp scholarship program with the help of our own Grant Curry, a alumni camper and staffer. Grant epically held the very first DTC Foundation fundraiser by cycling 400 miles over 4 days and gaining 40,000 feet in elevation. Through this effort he raised nearly $40,000 in scholarship funds to offer to people living with diabetes who may not be able to afford camp on their own.

Since 2015, Diabetes Training Camp Foundation has offered a total of $150,000 in camp scholarships and subsidies. The DTC Foundation subsidizes 10% of all week-long camper registration fees and subsidizes 80% of all teen registrations for our Teen Boot Camp programming. In addition, we offer half and full scholarships to our week-long camps.

We have a talented and dedicated Foundation team, including a Board of Directors and Foundation staff that is committed to development, business operations, marketing, PR and Foundation administration. Through the efforts of the Diabetes Training Camp Foundation, Diabetes Training Camp is moving forward with the promise to reach more people living with diabetes and to have a lasting impact on their management and fitness goals. Last year we hosted our first annual “Come Experience the Magic” fundraising event right here in Atlantic City at Hard Rock and we raised $150,000 for the Foundation. Those dollars are going to more scholarship opportunities and additional Diabetes Training Camp experiences, including our first-ever DTC2- a 3 day boot camp for people living with the challenges of Type 2 diabetes.

Your contribution will help us as we continue to map out our plan and establish Diabetes Training Camp as a non-profit leader and innovator within the diabetes community.

Through Diabetes Training Camp Foundation and our amazing community of campers, alumni, staff, volunteers and family, Diabetes Training Camp is becoming THE destination for active people living with diabetes.

Aino “Aiccis” has been thriving with type one diabetes for 46 years and knows first-hand the challenge of managing the autoimmune disease 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. She is the mother of three young adults, works full time in a family-owned business and actively volunteers for her church, high school sports teams and other charitable organizations. She has always lived a very active life whether skiing, horseback riding, walking, cycling and doing group excercise classes, all while managing her blood sugars. Aino “Aiccis” knows that managing blood sugars while exercising is challenging, frustrating and ever-changing.

Jody, who works for the Foundation and is integral in the planning and executing of services, sees first-hand how Diabetes Training Camp transforms the lives of its campers and provides a much needed community for those living with T1D. She partners closely with her husband, Dr. Matt Corcoran, to continue to provide access and services for the diabetes community to learn, train and connect while also filling each camper with pride and confidence. Both Aiccis and Jody are proud to co-chair Come Experience the Magic to raise the needed funds to continue to expand services and provide life-changing programs to the diabetes community.
